Snail Art

Anyone who knows me, even just a little, probably heard me mention at one time or another that I adore snails.  Snails are probably one of the most interesting animals, despite their simplicity in function and appearance.  I used to keep an aquarium of apple (mystery) snails for a few years, and observed all of the cycles and stages of a snail's life.  I can't control an aquarium's delicate temperature range where I now live, but I collect snail paraphenalia and make snail art.  Here are a few examples of older and newer art inspired by the elusive amphibious mollusk.  I'm saving them up for a special snail themed selection of work.

first a doodle, then a logo, now a tattoo!

This is all cotton fabric, and I used a method called "reverse applique" to create it.  It's not finished yet.
